ONGOING PROJECTS

“HELP ME DISCOVER MY FUTURE CAREER”

What would the future hold for an 18-year-old secondary school student who is at a loss with making a fulfilling career choice for his or her future?

Our survey has proven that more than 70% of students in our public secondary schools in both rural and urban Nigeria don’t know what it takes to choose a fulfilling career or field of study that aligns with their aptitudes and talents. This is caused by lack of access to up-to-date career choice books and absence or shortage of career guidance counsellors in our secondary schools. As a result, many teenagers and young adults have gone on to make bad career choices that they later regretted or struggled with at the higher institution with bad grades and low self-esteem, while many are altogether finding it difficult to obtain admission to the higher institution year in, year out due to wrong subject combinations they keep filling in their UTME (University entrance examination) forms. Furthermore, most of our teenagers have no clue about what careers in STEM fields are all about or the benefits such fields hold for them and the country at large.  On the other hand, there are many graduates in our society with dashed hopes of getting profitable employment, or altogether grappling with careers that are not providing the needed financial and emotional fulfilment everyone desires for in life.

These are just a few results of what a bad career choice at a younger age could cause later in life… However, this is not just a challenge for our young ones and our dear country, but it is also an opportunity to raise and empower millions of teenagers with knowledge of purposeful living and at the same time groom future stars and scholars in STEM fields.

Partner with us

We are therefore calling on individuals, corporate organizations and other stakeholders to partner with us in our Career Choice Outreach program for secondary schools across the country, and the free distribution of 5 million copies of our 2-in-1 Career Choice & University Admission Guide Booklet in the next 5 years to help teenagers in public secondary schools across Nigeria make the right choice as far as their career path is concerned while also developing radical and sustainable interest in STEM fields.

With this project, we will be addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 (Quality Education) & SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).

PROJECT “HEALTH AND SAFETY FOR ALL CHILDREN”

“According to UNICEF, Nigeria accounts for about 31% of the global malaria deaths, with an alarming number of these victims being young children. Additionally, diseases like measles, polio, and pneumonia—despite being preventable through vaccination—continue to claim young lives.’

‘The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that over 800,000 Nigerian children die annually before their fifth birthday, with a substantial proportion of these deaths due to conditions that could have been prevented with adequate healthcare services and immunization coverage.” Daily Trust, May 2, 2024

These health challenges and statistical figures on children are further compounded by high rates of sexual abuse, domestic violence, cyber bullying, kidnapping, malnutrition, etc. in recent times in the society. All these, if not curbed, can lead to accelerated rates of mortality, and other mental health issues among them. This will further affect the growth of our children into well-developed adults.

It is therefore important that we teach children skills in HSE (health, safety and environment) so as to raise health and safety-conscious children across Nigeria. Our schools’ curriculum covers a few topics on health, but lacks safety topics like identifying hazards, overcoming cyber-bullying, online safety, road and transport safety, fire-fighting/safety, home safety tips, etc.

With “Health and safety for children” book in the hands of every child in Nigeria, we will not only succeed in promoting health and safety knowledge and education among children in our country, but also breed responsible adult citizens in the near future and reduce drastically the rate of tragic incidents in our homes, various organizations and communities while addressing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 3, 4, 6, 8, 11, 12, & 16.

We are therefore calling on individuals, corporate organizations and other stakeholders to partner with us in the free distribution of this resource material for the promotion of HSE knowledge among the Nigeria child. Our target is to distribute 5 Million copies of the “Health and Safety for Children” book for free for pupils in primary schools in the next 5 years.
